Drum-roll PLEASE....
It's a thrill to announce that we are releasing a gorgeous new LIMITED EDITION CD at Woodford Folk Festival on 27 Dec 2024!
This is our first physical release of a collection of new Mundy-Turner songs in 18 years, representing a fresh era in our songwriting journey.
The CD features SEVEN new original tracks. ;)
The comedic title track 'MILLARD POP-TOP '74' recounts the (true) story of a series of family camping disasters involving said Pop-Top camper.
Logan-based visual artist Maki Ferguson has supplied three beautiful and humorous illustrations for the cover. Enjoy the sneak-peak above of Maki's cheeky "Cath'n'Jay Caricature" from the CD's back cover!
The LIMITED EDITION CD will be available at the Woodford Folk Festival Shop. It will also be available by mail-order via our website and at our live gigs post-Woodford (if there are any left!!).
Digital release will take place single-by-single throughout 2025, towards the release of a full-length album in Dec 2025 for our 30th anniversary.
Watch out for more news on digital single release dates...

MILLARD POP-TOP '74
Songwriters: Jay Turner & Catherine Mundy
V1: We were tired of camping in a swag, waking on a bumpy floor
‘Time for a change’ we decided, ‘let’s see what we can afford’
I was studying alternatives, ’til I was dizzy in the head
When an online ad caught my eye and this is what it said:
CH1: “You can wind her up ’n you can wind her down
She’s got two good wheels to keep you off the ground
A bed at each end, a big space in the middle to hold the family and more
It’s your lucky day, haul a dream away
She’s a Millard Pop-Top ’74”
V2: We bought her cheap, sight unseen - that might’a been a mistake
She was a bit of a ‘fixer-upper’
but a little love was all that it would take
And so began a journey through an ever-revolving door -
As our money came in, it soon went out on our Pop-Top ’74
V3: First the telescopes went down, but only one at a time
‘Cos the cables kept getting tangled up
in a way only the Devil could design,
So we exercised our credit-card ’til it was bruised and sore
And once again she was working just like back in ’74
CHORUS 2
V4: Then she tried to kill me! She pulled my car back down a hill
I fell underneath the wheels, how I‘m living is a miracle still
The insurance company laughed at me, but paid up finally
Eight hundred dollars excess and she was right as she would ever be
V5: But then the roof sprang a leak, we couldn’t tell just where
We filled buckets every time it rained, it was a sad and sorry affair
So I rebuilt the whole damn thing along with most of the floor
And the very next time we took her out, the ancient canvas tore
CHORUS 3
V6: Three thousand more and she was fixed again,
but it was really time for her to go,
So we sold her for a couple grand to some people that we didn’t know
Now they call us up all the time to tell us that she’s doing well
And how it was their lucky day when we decided to sell
CHORUS 4
CODA: She’s a Millard Pop-Top ’74 (x2)

FALLING
Songwriters: Jay Turner & Catherine Mundy
V1: I like living in the city
I don’t like living in a tent
But the government’s fighting inflation
Apparently that’s where my job went
Now they pushed the interest rates so high
I can neither buy nor rent —— and
CH1: Minute by minute, hour by hour
I’m falling farther behind
Living in the shadow of the Go-Between Bridge
Without a ticket to ride, ticket to ride
V2: The big boss of Woollies gets eight point four
Million dollars a year, maybe a little more
His ‘new low prices’ mean I can no longer
Afford to shop at his store, and
CH2: Minute by minute, hour by hour
I’m falling farther behind
Living in the shadow of the Go-Between Bridge
Without a ticket to ride, ticket to ride — and I’m
BRIDGE: Falling falling falling falling, Falling falling falling
Falling falling falling falling, Falling farther behind…
MID: You can call me a bludger, but I’m filled with confusion,
Isn’t unemployment part of your big solution?
If I get another job won’t that be fuel on the fire?
Another excuse to push those prices higher?
Instrumental Verse
V3: Modern Economic Theory says
There’s a less blunt set of tools
Than to make us homeless, hungry and poor
Let’s make ‘em change all the rules,
Increase child welfare, yeah!
Tax a billionaire or two!
There’s far fairer ways that we can avoid
Sinking this ship of fools, and
CH3: Minute by minute, hour by hour
We can make up for lost time
Get everybody on the Go-Between Bridge
Give us all a ticket to ride, ticket to ride — cos I’m
CODA: Falling falling falling falling, Falling falling falling
Falling falling falling falling, Falling farther behind…

DANCE HALL DAYS
Songwriter: Jay Turner
V1: She met him at the dance in the Old Masonic Hall
It was late September ’59,
Somehow she knew they’d fall for each other
So they fell for one another
V2: All the dance hall girls called him ‘the Jiving King’
He would show them all the latest moves
But he gave her his ring
It said “Forever - Kiss Me Quick and Leave Me Never”
CH1: Dance Hall Days, where her memory is turning
Dance Hall Days, in the circle of his arms
Dance Hall Days, now her lonely heart is yearning
Every time the music plays, she sheds a tear that says
She’s remembering those Dance Hall Days
V3: The years flew quickly by and the children all left home
He would spin her round the kitchen
Late at night when they were alone he would hold her
Sing “Lay Your Head Upon My Shoulder”, just like those
CHORUS 2
MID: The Alzheimers took him far too young
So many dances left undone…
V4: Now she let’s her body sway to an old familiar song
She thanks me for my singing and I say
“Hey, you can’t go wrong with a little rock ’n’ roll
It always lifts the soul”, just like those
CHORUS 3 & 4
CODA: Save the last dance for me, Save the last dance for me

WAR IS MY BUSINESS
Songwriter: Jay Turner
V1: Good Morning to you! War is my business
Hear all about it on the daily news
This week’s big star - Binjamin Netanyahu
Murderer of children and Aid-Workers too
‘Cos he’s got lots of ground-to-ground missiles
(That we sold him, but we told him)
‘Binjy, be careful how you use them
Don’t kill any Americans whatever you do’
V2: Good Morning to you! War is my business
Guaranteed jobs and profits to spare
Collateral Damage? Well, we DO see a little,
But it’s not here, it’s all ‘over there!’
‘Keeping Peace By Selling Weapons’ -
(That’s what we do, proudly we do)
All the best rockets, tanks and guns -
Be grateful they’re not pointed at you!
V3: Good Morning to you! War is my business
And I’m on your side until come the day -
Then I’ll be selling to the highest bidder -
It’s not my fault if you get in the way, anyway,
‘It’s not the weapons, it’s the people who wield them’
(That’s iconic and it’s almost ironic) that
If you get killed by a weapon you made
At least you’ll know it was ‘Top Grade’
V4: Good Morning to you! War is my business
And it’s in my best interests to keep it alive
That’s why we employ Undercover Agents
To infiltrate and destabilise
But we can help you celebrate the glory
(Oh, yeah, the Power and the Glory)
To bury your sons and daughters with pride,
So wave that flag just one more time!
V5: Good Morning to you, I hear the world’s ending
Bloody Armageddon going up in flames
Politicians busy hiding in bunkers
Far underground, still playing our game
Saving themselves for an uncertain future
(Making decisions, hoarding provisions)
The rest of you can think yourselves lucky -
At least you won’t have to blame Climate Change!
V6: Good Morning to you! War was my business
But it’s finally true - the end is nigh
All the predictions from all of the prophets
Are coming to fruition and I’ll tell you why -
We didn’t sell you quite enough weapons
(Tell ‘em about ‘em, they shouldn’a done without ‘em)
If we’d only sold you a handful more
We could’ve saved the whole damn war!
